Head of School Update

Dr. Gaffney's last day as Head of School was February 10, 2012 for personal and professional reasons. It was mutually agreed that Dr. Gaffney’s recent resignation be effective immediately. We wish Patrick and his family much happiness in their next venture.

Debbie Highsmith, DVP, Bright Horizons will step in as the Acting Head of School and Dayna West M.Ed., Ph.D., Director of School Services will assist in the day-to-day operations. We are pleased to announce we have met with several impressive candidates for the Interim Head of School position and are enthusiastic about making an announcement soon. Concurrently, we have formed an executive search committee and engaged Carney Sandoe & Associates, the premier global recruiting firm for private and independent schools. Together, we are committed to placing a Head of School whose experience, energy and passion are aligned with our vision for the future.

Since September we have achieved many great things; we launched science, music and art departments, grew our sports teams, added many new after school activities, exceeded our fall fund drive goal, and we are about to open the doors on our bilingual library. We have come a long way in three years and there is so much more on the horizon. Señorita Anna, Señora Cameron and Señora Dayna have been hard at work on our Spanish Curriculum to be presented next week. We are very proud of this achievement and the greater community of educators is taking note of our innovative Spanish Infusion program.
