Giving To Marin Preparatory School

The Development function at Marin Preparatory School is typical of all independent schools.  Its purpose is to advance the mission of the school and its programs by generating contributed income through the combined efforts of dedicated parent volunteers, corporate partners, friends, faculty, and staff.

The underlying focus of the fund raising effort is to advance the school and its programs through financial support,  while paralleling the cultural pattern we instill in our students - that giving back to your community is a social and moral obligation.  Our students are taught to help others who are less fortunate.  Children learn quickly, that giving to others brings joy to both the giver and the recipient.  This pattern is reinforced by their parents, as role models, in their support of the school and its mission, in any way they can.

Each academic year, contributions to the school are budgeted and raised through our Annual Fund effort.  These funds are used to enhance the educational experience for our students by generating opportunities for the school to purchase equipment that would be otherwise beyond our reach, increase financial aid for students, and provide enrichment activities and experiences as they become available. Your philanthropy, whether giving of your time, talent, or treasure, will have a direct and lasting effect on our students, and our school.

Volunteer

The gifts of your time, energy and talents are crucial to the success of our school. Please become actively involved in the development of our school. Studies have shown that children whose parents are present and participating in their school have a much more enriched elementary school experience. Please speak to Señora Flora Mugambi-Mutunga, Interim Head of School, to learn the numerous and varied options to join committees, assist in the classrooms and help out in so many valuable ways.
