¡Bienvenidos a Además! We are very excited about the amazing school year that is about to start and all the fun projects in Spanish that we will do in Además. This week we will get to know each other and learn some basic Spanish words through games and songs. The school week will start on Tuesday with a couple of activities to introduce ourselves using sentences as “me llamo...” (my name is...) or “tengo 5 años” (I am 5 years old). Once everybody knows their new friends, we will play some games in Spanish and listen to the song “Don Alfredo Baila”.

Wednesday will be our cooking day. Además will travel (in a culinary way, at least) to Spain, my homeland, to learn a couple of things about this country and prepare together a sweet dessert called rosquillas.  Students will be able to eat their rosquillas as a snack and get their first stamp in their Además passport. Yes, students will have a real passport that we will decorate together and where they can collect stamps every time we cook something from a different Spanish speaking country!

On Thursday we will learn colors and numbers in Spanish, and on Friday we will review all the new words we have learned with some fun activities and games.
