¡Bienvenidos a Junior Kindergarten! 

We are so excited to finally welcome the K1 students into our classroom this week! To start the school year off, we will be introducing the students to all of the different areas and materials in our classroom. We will be starting our daily Morning Meetings; in the meetings we will show the children how we use our schedule, calendar, read our morning message and start to count the days of school! By the end of the week the children will even develop their own classroom contract for behavior expectations. We will learn general school rules, and the important rules of the playground and the lunch room. The children will learn their classmate’s names and start to learn more and more about each other. We will also be exploring our math, writing and reading materials. As we discover the new classroom and school, Señorita Erika will be teaching us new Spanish vocabulary along the way!

This week we will encourage the children get into the habit of reading at least one short book a night with their parents. By Wednesday, we request that the children bring in a photograph of them with their family or friends doing something fun over the summer.
