Esta Semana en JK/This Week in JK

Hola familias,

This week in JK, we will continue our study of fairytales and read The Three Little Pigs, Jack and the Beanstalk, and The Ugly Duckling. We will be planting our own bean seeds and creating homes that the big bad wolf will try to blow down.

In math, we will develop strategies for accurately counting and keeping track of numbers, and quantify length using different materials. In handwriting, the students will learn how to write the lowercase letters “e” and “l”. Our sight words for the weeks are “down” and “eat”.  

La palabra del día/word of the day will be: cerdo/pig (Monday),  lobo/wolf (Tuesday), frijol/bean (Wednesday), pato/duck (Thursday), oro/gold (Friday)

Bringing the lessons home this week:

Monday/lunes: Please read one of your “just right” books.

Tuesday/martes: You will find some “magical” math problems in your B.E.E folder.

Wednesday/miercoles: The month of February is Black History Month. Please find one interesting fact on Jackie Robinson and bring it with you to school tomorrow.

Thursday/jueves: We read The Ugly Duckling today, please play the “Lucky Ducky” game with a friend.

Friday/viernes: Have a good weekend/que tengas un buen fin de semana!
